# What's Next

This book is a work in progress. Here's what's already in place and what's
still open.

## Standards alignment

Chapters 1 through 3 link every section to the
[AP CSP Standards Reference](https://python.porttack.com/alignment/apcsp-standards-reference.html),
showing which AP topics that chapter's material carries. Chapters 4 through 19
still need the same treatment.

Two more alignments are planned after that AP work is finished:

- **California CS Standards** — not started yet.
- **CSTA 2026 Standards** — not started yet, and waiting on the standards
  themselves to be finalized.

## Chapters

Chapters 1 through 8 have gone through the full adaptation: exercises,
removed material, blanks for live coding in class. Chapters 9 through 19 are
still Downey's original text, unedited.
